Last night, and for the first time since the game was announced, Ubisoft unveiled more details on Far Cry 6, the new entry for its famous license. With the title being open-world and cross-gen, observers couldn’t help but make the connection with Cyberpunk 2077.
During an interview with VGC by David Grivel, lead gameplay designer at Ubisoft Toronto, was obviously asked about the performance of Far Cry 6, which will run on PS4, PS5, PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series, with a question citing the title of CD Projekt as an example RED. The latter said that the team were very cautious about the performance of the game on PS4 and Xbox One.
Over the coming weeks and months, we’ll start showing more across the different platforms. What I can say, is that on the previous generation and the new generation, the game works well. One detail that I can add about the new generation is that it gives us allowed the game to run at 60 FPS and 4K, which is really cool. But that doesn’t mean the previous gen is being abandoned in any way. We’re really, really careful about that. So we’ll show you more details and more information very soon.
Far Cry 6 will take us in Yara, a fictional land where Antón Castillo reigns, a dictator played by Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad). The latter prepares his son Diego for his own succession, but also has to face a rebellion in the form of a guerrilla war.
For their part, players will embody the female or male version of Dani Rojas, a former soldier who decided to join the insurgents. Sixth main installment of the license, Far Cry 6 is announced as a different episode, Ubisoft showing its desire to make each of its productions more unique.
However, it will take wait until October 7, 2021 to find out if that feels in the gameplay.
