The popular FPS ev.io has created a new game mode called Snipe the Streamer. In this mode, streamers can set up special rooms and challenge their viewers to beat them in a head-to-head competition!

Stream sniping is a tactic where players will try to join the same game a streamer is playing and use information from the stream to track down the streamer and kill/harass them. In fact, most FPS streamers have a delay in their stream to avoid these situations. But ev.io changes this concept by introducing a new Snipe the Streamer game mode.

To play this mode, streamers will start a match and then post the link on their Twitch channel. Anyone who joins will automatically join other players battling the streamer. To compensate for the imbalance in the team, the streamer will receive a few benefits. During the match, they will have upgraded abilities and weapons, and only take 5% normal damage.

Other players who join have a limited number of lives. If they run out, they are started from the server and the next player in the queue takes their place. The ev.io team recommends having at least six opponents for this game mode. The game host will also have some settings that you can change, such as how many lives each player gets.

And you don’t have to be a streamer to use this mode. Groups of friends can also choose to play it.

Other features in preparation

But this new game mode is not all that is happening with ev.io. They also just added a new map called Bedlam.

Also, they are working hard to improve their server performance and create an NFT ranking and upgrade system. They also plan to have a store with a rotating set of available NFTs and a battle pass style system with “Quest Cards”.

There is still a lot to do for this free browser-based FPS!

What is ev.io?

ev.io is a browser-based FPS with NFTs on the Solana blockchain. Players earn in-game coins as they play, with bonuses for being a registered user (instead of guest12345) and for equipping in-game NFTs. Collect 10,000 of these tokens and you can cash them in for $5 worth of crypto -SOL currency. Game Tokens have no other use at this time, but that may change in a future update.

Getting started with ev.io is absurdly simple. Simply visit their website and click Play Now! The game works in a browser, and you don’t even need to be logged in to play! Although you want to login if you want to earn tokens. After that you jump, aim, shoot and test different weapons.

The game runs great and has an Unreal tournament feel. The arenas are quite simple, with many corridors and high ceilings to jump. Players start with a basic rifle and grenades, but can pick up other weapons that spawn on the map. Matches are timed and generally action-packed. Public servers are still available and players can also create their own custom game lobbies.

ev.io features an upgrade system, which allows players to customize their playstyle by purchasing attributes such as reduced cooldown or triple jump ability. In the future, players will also be able to upgrade their NFTs to increase their income.
