Riot Games is gearing up for the start of VCT EMEA, a league with the top 10 teams in the region that kicks off on March 27. Among them are three Spanish teams: KOI, Team Heretics and Giants. Note that Spain is the most represented country in this competition.
The remaining 7 teams that complete the league are Karmine Corp (France), Team Vitality (France), BBL Esports (Turkey), FUT Esports (Turkey), NAVI (Ukraine), Team Liquid (Netherlands) and new champions LOCK . / /IN organized in Brazil: Fnatic (United Kingdom).

Three Spanish players will take part in the competition:

  • Oscar “Mixwell” Cañellas (Team Heretics): One of the most nationally recognized players since the launch of VALORANT. He previously competed with G2 Esports where he posted two second place finishes at the Challengers in 2021 and 2022.
  • Jose Luis “Koldamenta” Aranguren (KOI): He was Masters champion in 2021 with Acend. Prior to KOI, he also played for G2 Esports and Guild Esports.
  • Adolfo “Fit1nho” Gallego (Giants): Giants franchise player. His role is that of a duelist. Before Giants, he participated in LanZz Gaming, Wizards, 19esports. His favorite operators in the game are Jett, Chamber, and Raze, and his favorite cards are Ascent and Pearl. His record: in Spain, champion of a stage of the Rising Series and of the regular phase of the VRL Rising Spain; at international level, second place at a European stage and third place at the Red Bull Home Ground.

The first day will start on March 27, which will be followed by four days of matches to launch VCT EMEA 2023. The first week will be the only one with five consecutive days of competition, since the normal thing will be that the matches They take place on Wednesdays (1 x Bo3), Thursdays (2 x Bo3) and Fridays (2 x Bo3).

All teams will have played each other once by the end of the regular season on May 19. The top six teams will qualify for the playoffs, which will take place from May 23-28. The format will be double elimination and the top two teams will automatically advance to the first round.

Thanks to Fnatic’s victory at LOCK//IN, the EMEA region has one more place to qualify for the Tokyo Masters; In total, there will be 4 teams that will enter this tournament.

These will be the first meetings of the Spanish teams:

– Fnatic vs. Giants (March 27 at 6:00 p.m.)
– KOI vs. NAVI (March 27 at 9:00 p.m.)
– Team Heretics vs FUT (March 28 at 6:00 p.m.)

VCT EMEA can be taken in 14 languages: English, Spanish, Turkish, French, German, Arabic, Polish, Czech, Slovak, Finnish, Hungarian, Italian, Serbian and Ukrainian.
