Atlus has detailed some of the new additions included in the Switch version of the upcoming Etrian Odyssey Origins Collection, released on June 1, 2023 for the Nintendo console and Windows PC. The Switch version of the games includes touchscreen controls for drawing maps when playing in handheld mode. Automatic mapping functions have also been detailed. The auto-mapping setting will be available on the Switch and PC versions.

The automapping feature offers two different settings. With “Auto Assign (ON)”, the game will automatically detect and draw floor tiles on the map. Meanwhile, “Auto-mapping (FULL)” will register both floor tiles and walls in a dungeon. Auto-mapping can also be turned off for those who wish to manually take care of their dungeon maps.

Additionally, the game will support both left-handed and right-handed layouts for drawing maps on the touchscreen. The display position of the card can be changed to the left or to the right depending on the dominant hand that has been selected in the game settings.

As a reminder, Origins of the Etrian Odyssey will include adventurer portrait DLCs based on characters from the Character series, soul pirates 2, CMS IIIthere CMS V.

Etrian Odyssey Origins Collection will be released on Switch and Windows PC on June 1, 2023. The collection includes remastered HD versions of Etrian Odyssey 1-3.
