the long awaited old ring FromSoftware has announced the DLC expansion, and Shadow of the Erdtree is revealed to be “currently in development”.
Elden Ring DLC has been widely rumored for some time now, although previous speculation of a major new game update was concluded with the release of its free Colosseum PVP update. However, Shadow of the Erdtree will be more than a small update and will finally add a full expansion to the RPG.
Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree expansion brings “new adventures”
The company has revealed little information about the upcoming expansion except for some DLC-related concept art. A message from the official Elden Ring Twitter account reads: “Arise misty one and let us walk a new path together.”

The announcement of the expansion comes just days after Elden Ring’s first anniversary and has proven to be a huge success for FromSoftware. By the end of 2022, the RPG had broken The Last of Us 2’s Game of the Year record and more recently surpassed God of War Ragnarok for the DICE 2023 GOTY award.
FromSoftware did not reveal when Shadow of the Erdtree would be released, although a peep from the company’s official account said it was “a bit early”, indicating that it could be some time before launch.
