A new post on the LinkedIn profile of a From Software employee confirms that the expansion of Elden Ring, Shadow of the Erdtreehas been running since at least April 2022, which means it’s been in development for just over a year.
It seems like FromSoftware he wanted to build on the monumental success of Elden Ring as soon as possible, as it would mean he began work on the expansion just months after the base game was released.
This indicates that work on Shadow of the Erdtree is well advanced, which we hope means having a release date. earlier than expected initially. Of course, FromSoftware’s current priority is Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, but soon after the game’s release, we might have that Shadow of the Erdtree expansion. Maybe even before the end of 2023.
