original story: The first EA Sports Game of the Year is upon us as the company announced today that The PGA Tour by EA Sports will officially launch for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S (as well as other platforms) in March 24, 2023.

EA Sports PGA Tour marks EA’s first golf game since 2015 Rory McIlroy’s PGA Tourand will act as a direct competitor to Take-Two PGA Tour 2K23. Considered the “exclusive home of the Majors”, featuring the Masters Tournament, PGA Championship, US Open Championship, and The Open, as well as the PLAYERS Championship, FedExCup Playoffs, Augusta National Women’s Amateur, and even more.

The title will feature 30 courses designed on the Frostbite engine, some of which are “the most unique in the world”, with “the most realistic visuals of any golf game” to date, at least according to EA. In terms of gameplay, you can expect a Pure Strike swing system with smooth swing mechanics, innovative ball behavior and realistic pitch dynamics, as well as a career mode that features unified RPG progression.

Here’s what Cam Weber, Executive Vice President and General Manager of EA Sports, had to say in a press release:

“We’re bringing the world-class PGA TOUR experience to players around the world with real golf data that enables incredibly realistic play on every shot, and some of the world’s most iconic courses rendered in exquisite detail.”

Pre-orders for EA Sports PGA Tour on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S are available starting today, and the game will also get a 10-hour free trial of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate starting March 21, so so you can try before you buy!
