Sons of the Forest is anything but a casual game across the desert. Players who wish to participate in this experience should be aware that although the game offers many calm and relaxing gameplay moments, things can go horribly wrong at any time. You can build whatever you want to help you survive, but this island forest is home to terrifying creatures waiting to raid your creations and cut them down to kill you. Many players naturally want to bring along a friend for a sense of security and camaraderie, but does Sons of the Forest even offer split-screen play with another person?

¿Sons of the Forest includes local multiplayer?

Unfortunately, Sons of the Forest does not offer split-screen co-op as an option to survive in this wilderness. Split-screen is a white whale in gaming today, especially for PC-exclusive titles. Local multiplayer on the same PC is not possible at this time and was never added to the previous title, The Forest, at any time during its popularity. This means Sons of the Forest will probably never have a local co-op.

¿Sons of the Forest your multiplayer?

Although playing together on the same PC is not possible, the option to play with friends is a very important part of the game and is highly recommended. Sons of the Forest features online co-op that can include two to eight players. There is safety in numbers, so bringing along as many friends as possible will not only make for a much better experience, but will also make the game much more fun.

If you still harbor a desire for a split-screen experience, you can still play with your friends or family in the same household, as long as you both have your own PC and Steam account. Both of you will also need a copy of Sons of the Forest. Simply place your PCs next to each other and push your monitors together and you have your own impromptu split-screen experience.
