Warning: This article contains spoilers for HBO. The last of us episode five.
HBO The last of us perfectly captured the essence of what made the game one of the most critically acclaimed titles of all time. Its brilliant cast and their respective performances were apparently pulled straight from the video game due to their ability to portray the emotions felt during the making of Naughty Dog. A perfect example of this amazing talent is shown especially in episode five where a tragic event occurs towards the end of the episode.

Does Henry die in The Last of Us game?

Yes, Henry dies in the game and the cause of his death is very similar to the one depicted in the series. In the game, Henry, Sam, Ellie, and Joel managed to escape the raiders, after which they were finally able to find a place of refuge. Unfortunately, the worst was yet to come as it was eventually revealed that Sam suffered a Clicker scratch on his ankle in a previous encounter.

In the morning, Ellie would try to wake Sam up for breakfast to find that he had already turned into a runner. Unsurprisingly, runner Sam attacks Ellie, causing Joel to grab a gun to protect her.

However, Henry, who is already armed, shoots Joel in an attempt to protect his brother. Realizing that Sam has gone too far, he ends up killing him. Realizing what he had done, Henry first points the gun at Joel, blaming him for what happened. He then shoots himself and pulls the trigger, ending one of the game’s most tragic and climactic arcs.

Does Henry die in The Last of Us?

Yes, Henry also dies on HBO The last of us and the way he died was almost similar to the game, the only differences being his dialogue and behavior. After discovering that Sam had succumbed to the infection and Sam’s subsequent attack on Ellie, Henry would end up shooting his brother after a brief scuffle with Joel.

The next scene would show the most obvious difference from the game because instead of panicking and blaming Joel, Henry was silent. After a few seconds, he points at himself and immediately pulls the trigger.
