Ixion is a game where every choice counts. With limited staff and resources, you as the “manager” must navigate through a series of difficult decisions that will ultimately decide the fate of your campaign. One such option is to complete Thoughts of the Protagoras, which is part of The Dangers Of Space Exploration side quest, which must be completed if players seek the Help of the Forgotten Member achievement, which requires players to cast the Naomi protocol three times. This is how you can complete Thoughts of Protagoras in Ixion.

How to complete Thoughts of Protagoras in Ixion?

The Dangers of Space Exploration side quest will be available to the player after Chapter 2, once they leave the solar system. Players will need to research the Protagoras Diagnostic Scan to unlock Save Protagoras.
First, send a science vessel to the Protagoras. You will then have the following options:
- Repair Protagoras Superstructure (100 Alloys, 60 Polymers, 3 Cycles, 1 Freighter, Tiqqun docked in Protagoras): will give the player a new option
- Restore internal infrastructure and food distribution (100 Alloy, 100 Food, 2 Cycles, 1 Cargo): gives 50 workers and 200 non-workers
Move the Ixion away from Protagoras, and next to Deville 59 instead, to prevent the ice from leaving the Immortan area. Choose “Reset internal infrastructure and food distribution” and you will have an additional option:
- Naomi Protocol: Meet the Elders (3 cycles): 2 crew members leave the Tiqqun
Note that selecting this option can potentially break any promises you have made regarding the loss of Science Ships crew members. You will then have these options:
- Install a copy of Eden (5 cycles): disable other options
- Naomi Protocol: Keep a copy of Protagoras’ AP (5 cycles): 60 Science, disable other options
- Leave the Protagoras: disable other options
Select “Naomi Protocol: Save a copy of the Protagoras AP”. Once you have made your selection, you will be allowed to leave the premises.
