The battle for the souls of Sanctuary reaches new heights! An artistic medium has invaded the roof of a cathedral in France in the form of the demonic art of Diablo IV, the next installment in the genre-defining video game series. This art installation is part of a campaign featuring acclaimed Baroque artist Adam Miller in collaboration with MJZ director Henry Hobson; Charles Dance, actor known for Game Of Thrones; and Blizzard Entertainment to bring the game’s greatest visuals and scenes to life in a purely gothic setting.

DEMONIC MASTERPIECE DETAILS

  • The 45-meter mural is a composition of 20 unique paintings that cover the ceiling and the dome, as well as a huge mural on the back wall. “This is a one-of-a-kind project,” says Adam Miller. It’s a fantastic opportunity to paint in an environment like this and on a large scale with figurative art.” To achieve this, Miller and his team painted on a canvas before moving it into the cathedral so that it resembles iconic historic murals by artists like Caravaggio and Michelangelo.
  • This artistic installation is accompanied by a report on the cathedral. Directed by Henry Hobson and narrated by Charles Dance (actor of Game Of Thrones), this audiovisual piece was designed so that viewers could enjoy the space, the art and the aftermath of the battle itself. “Since discovering this project, I’ve loved the idea of Diablo’s artistic vision coming to life on the walls of a real gothic cathedral,” says Hobson. As the camera pans up the walls, viewers will see the five classes of Diablo IV as they face off against the powers of evil in the ultimate conflict between light and dark.” “I am honored to to be a part of the haunting beauty of this work,” says Dance, “and to bring that experience to viewers around the world.” Additionally, we’ve made a behind-the-scenes video as part of this campaign.
