Axie takes another step forward with its racing game, Axie Homeland, announcing the imminent start of Alpha Season 1. Lasting thirty days, this Axie Homeland Alpha also includes leaderboards with token rewards for the best players. !
Starting February 22 at 11:30 GMT, Axie Homeland Alpha Season 1 brings the first version of AXS rewards to the game. And, since the rewards are now available, everyone will have their progress reset and have to start building their land again from zero. Also be prepared for all progress to be wiped at the end of the first alpha season.
Alpha Season 1 will last 30 days. At the end of the season, the top 500 players in Adventure Passive and Land Development earn mAXS (1,000 mAXS = 1 AXS token). For reference, an AXS token is currently worth around $11. So the top player on the Passive Adventure leaderboard could win over $2,000 worth of chips!
This will be the first opportunity for players to receive rewards for decorating and developing their land. Additionally, the Passive Adventure feature will see some improvements to gameplay mechanics and the ability to form parties of up to three adventurers. Additionally, the Axie team plans to hold a plot decorating contest during the season, also with AXS prizes.

While there is apparently some sort of free-to-play option in the future, at the moment players must own an Axie plot of land to participate in the Homeland alpha. Anyone who does not already own an Axie plot can choose one from the official market. But beware, the minimum price of an Axie plot is close to 1 ETH!
What is Axie Patrie?
Axie Homeland is a game about building and farming your land while putting your Axies to work. The main objective of Homeland is to run a colony as efficiently as possible in order to equip adventurers with equipment and supplies to defeat waves of monsters. The more successful these adventurers, the more rewards the owner receives. Players must farm and construct buildings, assigning Axies to handle the work.
Currently, Axie Homeland offers the following features:
- Gather: Gather raw materials from the surrounding environment.
- Crafting: Create powerful equipment and supplies for your adventurers.
- Trade – Trade with native adventurers and other landowners for in-game currency.
- Decorate – beautify your land
- Build – Build the infrastructure needed to craft equipment and process raw materials
- Passive Adventure – Equip and send your adventurers into battle
- Competition: Compete to be one of the top players on the leaderboards.
- Explore – Explore the world of Lunacia as landowners turn their vacant lands into massive settlements.
Presumably, at some point in the future, this will tie into Axie Origins, with the two games supporting each other in different ways.
