The Beheaded will join Alucard and Richter Belmont in a new expansion called Dead Cells Return to Castlevania. The expansion received an animated trailer at The Game Awards 2022, but Nintendo’s latest live stream previewed the gameplay. The DLC expansion will launch on March 6, 2023

Players will control the Headless as they infiltrate Dracula’s castle. They will join forces with Richter and Alucard, in addition to acquiring many Castlevania-themed skills and weapons, like the throwing axe, vampire slayer and more. Abilities such as Teleportation and Alucard’s Crosshair will also appear. The Decapitated will face iconic bosses from the Castlevania series like Dracula and Death itself. The expansion itself adds two additional environmental biomes themed around locations from the series, and introduces new enemies and weapons of an original design in addition to those taken from Castlevania inspiration.

For those who just jump on a base game pack and Castlevania The DLC will cost $22.99, while the Dead Cells: Melody of Pain Bundle sells the base game, back to Castlevania and all other DLC together for $31.99. The expansion will launch on March 6, 2023 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
