Fans on Reddit are speculating that the long-awaited Cyberpunk 2077 update 1.7 it could happen sooner than we think. Based on various changelogs in the game’s Steam database, specifically in the “qa_branch” files, some players believe we could see the patch within a month or two. Although the upcoming 1.7 update has yet to receive an official release date from CD Projekt Red, it will bring substantial changes to the game ahead of the Phantom Liberty DLC.

Cyberpunk 2077 update 1.7 will revamp the police system and add new cyberware

We suggest taking the much-loved Reddit thread in question with a few grains of salt, but it shows that the changes to the game’s changelog have been made in quick succession. Still, some users think it might just be a fix for the DLSS 3.0 update, so assuming the 1.7 update will be available in a month is pretty optimistic.

But we do know that this patch 1.7 needs to be released to lay the groundwork for Phantom Liberty, which still has a vague 2023 release window. As revealed during a special in September 2022, this patch will revamp the police system, including MaxTac, Pula vehicle-to-vehicle combat, provide more actions in the perk tree and add new cyberware.

It will also be released in 2023 Cyberpunk 2077 Game of the Year Edition, which will arrive after the release of the Phantom Liberty DLC. At the same time, the game’s multiplayer component was canceled due to a poor launch.
