After a period of abundant rumors and not a few memes from the official Crysis Twitter account, it was finally revealed early last year that a fourth mainline Crysis game was in development. Since then, we haven’t heard much news, but that could be about to change.
Yesterday Crytek announced that they are hiring and there are many openings to work on the game. This includes roles such as lead producer, lead AI programmer, lead visual effects artist and junior lighting artist. These slots are usually not needed during a game’s pre-production phase, suggesting that Crysis 4 has in fact entered full production.
It also means that we shouldn’t expect Crysis 4 to appear anytime soon, but it’s always nice to see production moving forward instead of rebooting or shutting down.
