It’s been over a decade since the original release of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive but Valve hasn’t stopped supporting the game, as this week they launched a new case, which saw the game break its all-time concurrent player record on Steam, with over 1.3 million players playing online. same time.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive was released on August 21, 2012, which has been 10 and a half years since its original release and enters the second decade of its life. It looks like CS:GO still has a lot of life left as it just broke its concurrent player record by signing up 1,308,963 players this Saturday, February 11, 2023.

According to SteamDB, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive’s average weekly player count is 790,532, but its last concurrent player peak was in mid-April 2020, almost 3 years ago. In the last 24 hours, there was a maximum of 1,299,983 concurrent players, so CS:GO could surpass its record again in the coming days if this continues.

To date, there have only been four video games capable of exceeding one million concurrent players on Steam, because in addition to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, the only ones that have achieved this are PUBG: Battlegrounds, Lost Ark and DOTA 2. This week Counter-Strike: Global Offensive did so well that it became the tenth best-selling game on Steam, marking a miraculous return to the bestseller list more than a decade after its release.

This certainly bodes well for the future of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, although some players would like to see bigger content expansions than we’ve received in recent years.
