Counter Strike 2 will arrive with Nvidia Reflex support this summer, and the technology could give owners of GeForce GPUs a competitive edge. While achieving higher frame rates than ever before in the next best FPS gaming competitor is important, enabling the feature will ensure that player performance is not hampered by low latency related to the material.
Needless to say, you’re probably looking forward to Valve’s Counter Strike 2 release date if you’re a huge CG:GO fan. Some gamers and streamers are already working on cards for the sequel, as recent footage suggests satisfying 500Hz monitors in CS2 might be tricky. In a statement, Nvidia reveals working with Valve to make Counter Strike 2 compatible with Reflex. You won’t need the best graphics card to use the feature, it will only work on GeForce graphics cards and they will need to be newer than the GTX 900. Since the RTX 3060 is the most popular GPU on Steam right now, it’s safe to say that a part of the players must be able to activate the tool.
By using Nvidia Relfex in Counter Strike 2, the GPU giant claims you will be able to reduce system latency by up to 35%. This will be important if you plan to increase fps with a powerful card like the RTX 4090, as it will ensure that all your deft moves are translated into the game with minimal lag.
Nvidia also rightly boasts that nine of the top ten competitive PC shooters support Reflex. This list includes favorites like Apex Legends, Call of Duty: Warzone 2, Destiny 2, Escape from Tarkov, Fortnite, Overwatch 2, Rainbow Six Siege, and Valorant, with Counter Strike 2 soon to join the collection of GeForce-enhanced FPS games.
We’re still waiting to find out if Counter Strike 2 will be armed with all the Nvidia DLSS 3 cheats, as both would help close the frame rate gaps. That said, it’s still early days for Valve’s next big release, so you can pick up abilities that take competitive play to the next level post-launch.
