Evolution of the pip and access to new forms in Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition it will be different after a new patch. Square-Enix announced that an update will arrive in February 2023. While bug fixes and frame rate changes will be part of the tweaks, changes to the character evolution system will be as well.
As a reminder, Pip is an optional character that you can add to your party on chrono-cross visit Lucia’s lab at Viper Manor. Depending on what items are equipped and used, you can send it down one of two upgrade paths. One is a “dark” side triggered by the use of black, red and yellow elements. It would make Pip a physical attacker and show an evil side. If someone makes Pip use blue, green and white elements, you will get a “holy” character whose magic attacks will be stronger. The announcement did not explain how the Pip Growth System will change.
