In a new update, Champions Ascension has announced that in the future players will no longer be required to have a Web3 wallet to play. After making its pre-alpha version free and even removing the need for an invite code, Champions Ascension is taking a big step forward in accessibility!
Lowering the barriers to entry for web3 is an ongoing effort for developers. Many Web3 compatible games are finding ways to allow players to enjoy their game as they would any other game, while also allowing access to the blockchain and NFT tokens for those who wish to partake of this side of the project. And one of the latest games to join this movement is Champions Ascension.
The Champions Ascension team recently announced that players can now join their game without logging into a web3 wallet. Now anyone can download the game client and try Champions Ascension without any extra hassle.

Those who own a Prime or Champion NFT can use them as an in-game avatar, including all of their specific traits and appearances! Those without NFTs can use a default generic human avatar.
The pre-alpha currently includes arena combat, as well as various mini-games. The minigames range from mostly passive crab racing to confusing and disorienting drunken racing to dice games and bluffing. Arena combat is currently limited to a specific selection of heroes, but the champions team has been constantly working to add new champions to the mix, as well as balancing, tweaking, and bug fixing.
Champions Ascension offers regular pre-alpha previews every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Players can join two sessions on Thursdays, starting at 9am and 3pm PST. On Fridays and Saturdays, Champions hosts three sessions: at 2 a.m., 9 a.m., and 3 p.m. PST. All of these sessions last two hours.

What is Rise of Champions?
Champions Ascension is an upcoming gladiator fighting game built in a virtual world. Although 3D arena combat was the original selling point and centerpiece of the game, Champions Ascension also builds an open world around it. The one where players can walk around and interact. The world includes crafting, farming, land ownership, an in-game market, a betting system, mini-games and much more!
Champions Ascension made a first sale of Prime Eternals in early 2022. Prime Eternals are generative NFTs with different attributes that function as in-game characters and profile picture NFTs. Champions Ascension is currently hosting regular game previews, open to everyone. These events, known as Slice of Massina, feature various mini-games such as Drunk Racing and Dudo, a bet/bluff game, in addition to the main arena fighting game.
