There are plenty of Witcher projects going on right now, but the one that has been making headlines lately is Project Sirius, a multiplayer game set in the fantasy universe.

CD Project Red announced earlier this month that had restarted work on the Sirius project. Now, thanks to a conference broadcast via YouTube, we know why. According to the video in which the CFO of CD Projekt Red, Piotr Nielubowicz, took part, the decision to restart the project was made to reduce costs in advance. Here’s how he explained it:

“To stay innovative, we need to experiment and have the courage to try new paths, and stay in control and on the right track, especially with a project that is new to us in terms of design, developed by a studio new to our family. . We need to continue to assess the situation as we move forward. It’s better to cut costs early – and even start over if necessary – than to move on.

Do you think it was the right decision?
