Capcom assures fans that a rain-drenched Resident Evil 4 Remake is slated for release as rumors swirl about when gamers will be able to partake in the next reimagining of one of the greatest horror games ever. all the time. The developer is responding to one of the most common complaints about preview images ahead of its upcoming Capcom showcase, where people are hoping to find out when the Resident Evil 4 Remake demo will be released.
Ever since the first gameplay previews of the remake arrived courtesy of Game Informer, one of the main talking points has been the effects of rain. Brilliant white in color and coating the screen in an avalanche of particle effects, the heavy rain visuals are something of a distraction from a gorgeous game that’s shaping up to be the best Resident Evil since 1996.
Luckily, it looks like the developers have listened to people’s concerns and are taking action. Producer Hirabayashi Yoshiaki spoke to Press Start and told them, “We’ve seen everyone’s reaction to the effects of the rain and are working on a day one patch to make adjustments.” It’s reassuring news for anyone worried about the prevailing drizzle that could interfere with their enjoyment of Leon S Kennedy’s latest outing.
Meanwhile, speculation about the demo’s release date continues to mount ahead of the next developer presentation. The Capcom Spotlight showcase will air on March 9 at 2:30 p.m. PT / 5:30 p.m. ET / 10:30 p.m. GMT / 11:30 p.m. CET. It was even suggested that the demo could be released at the end of the presentation.
Further fueling this theory, some Twitter users are reports that they were shown a Twitch ad, apparently posted ahead of schedule, ending with a screen that read “Demo available now.” We haven’t been able to verify that this ad has aired, so take it with a grain of salt, but it certainly wouldn’t be unusual for Capcom to release a demo like this.
