How to find the turtle shell in Sons of the Forest

Turtle shell can, of course, be harvested from a turtle. The ones you need to find are the sea turtles and not the regular turtles, as you won’t get shells from the ones hiding around the lakes. Therefore, you must first head to the coast. The journey from where you spawn in-game to the coast is long, so be sure to refuel before you go.

When you get to the coast you should look for sea turtles. They are usually next to rocks. Once you see one, kill it with your ax or any weapon of your choice, then extract the shell. You can also eat their meat to fill your food bar.

Can turtle shell be used in Sons of the Forest?

At the moment, there is no specific use for Turtle Shell. Some claim that the shell can be placed on the ground to collect rainwater. However, even after several attempts, we were unable to bring the shell to the ground. But the shell is believed to have something to do with creating an in-game rain catcher, as it was used for the same purpose in the Sons of the Forest predecessor. If Endnight Games decides to add a Rain Collector via a future update, we’ll be sure to let you know.
