Fans of Hogwarts Legacy will be delighted to know that they can play it in virtual reality. The normal game can only be played on a PC or TV screen, but a VR mod is coming soon. A virtual reality expert by the name of Praydog introduced a mod called Universal VR Mod, which was created to make almost any title developed with Unreal Engine 4 or 5 suitable for VR headsets.

Hogwarts Legacy virtual reality game
Hogwarts Legacy is based on Unreal Engine 4, plus some Active Pradog and Universal Mod perks – with the Flat2VR community promising that “the whole wizarding world” will soon be available in full 6DOF VR. It would be a really cool experience for any Harry Potter fan to get the chance to play the VR game, not only because of the realistic feel it will give to the beloved world, but also because it takes place in the 19th century. Thus, you would have the impression of stepping back in time.
The Warner Bros game. Hogwarts Legacy is third-person, while VR would give the player a first-person perspective of the same world, while only changing for cutscenes and spells. When you wave your wand, you’ll see your avatar from the outside, and you’ll need to use a mouse and keyboard or controller to give input… motion controls are not yet available for Hogwarts Legacy VR.
There is no release date for Hogwarts Legacy in VR yet, but the Flat2VR Twitter account has promised that Praydog will have the first version of the mod available very soon.

A fast PC will be needed
Unfortunately, the only downside to trying out this Hogwarts Legacy VR mod might be the fact that you’ll need a very fast PC. The developer said on the Flat2VR Discord server that they “get by” with an Nvidia Geforce RTX 3080, but the shared YouTube video was shot with a GeForce RTX 4090.
Praydog’s open source project should be available for free soon as promised, so stay tuned for some Hogwarts Legacy VR fun very soon.
