While it’s hard to top the glorious feeling of flying a hippogryph across the Highlands in Hogwarts Legacy, riding the wide variety of fancy broomsticks can provide a slightly more authentic witch or wizard experience. Of course, not all broomsticks will suit every student’s fancy, but there’s no denying that the world is relatively generous when it comes to diversity when it comes to broomstick riding. Nonetheless, brooms, regardless of appearance, offer attractive matching cosmetics, but do not alter speed or handling stats in any way. Despite this, there is one broom in particular in Hogwarts Legacy that many might consider the “best broom ever”.

How to unlock the Bright Spark broom in Hogwarts Legacy

Hogwarts Legacy’s best broom is the Bright Spark Broom, a beautiful piece of craftsmanship that features a curved edge for comfort and a graceful curved tip with two dangling stars. These stars emit a bright, attractive glow that is especially attractive to view after dark. Of course, to say that the Bright Spark Broom is “the best” is completely subjective because all brooms are created equal. However, there is one feature that makes this particular broom particularly prestigious compared to other brooms you can find in Hogwarts Legacy.

This special feature is related to how to unlock the Bright Spark broom in Hogwarts Legacy. To acquire this broom, you need to find and pop all the giant balloons on the world map. For reference, there are 32 groups of balloons, with five in each group, for a total of 160 balloons. In one session we accomplished this rather arduous task and can report that the whole process of tracking and popping each balloon will take at least 53 minutes. If you fully upgraded your broom with Albie, this effort may take a little less time.

Crucially, unlocking the “best” shiny broom in Hogwarts Legacy is tied to two prerequisite quests: Madame Kogawa Assignments 1 and 2. These two side quests will spawn 20 of the 160 balloons you’ll find on your journey and will only appear if you have triggered the missions. According to our tests, you can start the second task after completing the first one by changing the time of day once on the game map. Of course, we’re not suggesting you pop all the balloons at once, but the cute shiny broom, which includes three other brooms, is definitely an interesting exploration challenge reward.
