Assassin’s Creed: Nexus, the VR installment of the popular series, has yet to be officially announced, but Ubisoft is said to be so confident of its success that it is already planning a sequel.

We have known unofficially for almost a year that Ubisoft is working on a project called Assassin’s Creed: Nexusan episode of the popular series made for virtual reality. Now, rumors have surfaced that the publisher is already considering a sequel., although the first part hasn’t even been officially announced yet.

  1. The rumors are believable, as their source is the Insider Gaming website, run by verified insider Tom Henderson.
  2. According to these reports, Ubisoft originally had an exclusive deal with Meta, but it was scrapped due to cuts to the latter company’s VR budget.
  3. However, the project is already at such an advanced stage of development that it will most likely release exclusively on Oculus, at least initially.
  4. Ubisoft would be very happy with the way the game is presented. The company would also be confident in the success of Assassin’s Creed: Nexus who has already started preparations for a sequel. This sequel is said to have been created from the ground up with multiple VR platforms in mind.

Recall that, according to previous rumors, Assassin’s Creed: Nexus should allow us to play with many of the most famous characters from the brand’s previous opuses, such as Ezio (AC2, Brotherhood and Revelations), Haytham and Connor (AC3) or Kassandra (AC: Odyssey). The game will supposedly feature a campaign with sixteen missions and various modes of movement. Stealth kills are said to require a proper twist of the wrist that simulates the use of a hidden blade.

It’s entirely possible that the sequel will include other celebrities from the series’ storied history as playable characters.

As of now, there is no information on when we can expect the official announcement of AC Nexus. However, fans of the brand will not be able to complain about the lack of attractions this year, since the release of Assassin’s Creed: Mirage is scheduled for 2023.
