I’ve tried a lot of headsets over the past few years, and one thing is clear: when it comes to gaming, headsets will never beat headsets. With a wider list of features, longer battery life, and overall comfort, there’s no denying that a good headset is the best choice for gaming. However, Logitech G wants to overturn that opinion with its Fits headphones, and since they debuted in the UK last week, I’ve been testing them to see if they can make me ditch my headphones to play my favorite games. . Before I give you an answer, let’s talk about the technology behind the Fits that makes them so innovative.

Aesthetically, these headphones look like a pill with gum attached. Logitech says the only thing holding these headphones back is the poor fit they often have. The silicone tips are there to hold the earbuds in place, but they’re not molded or shaped like your ear, and that’s where that weird plastic bulge comes in. Thanks to Logitech’s Lightform molding technology, when configuring adjustments, this plastic bulge literally heats up and molds to fit your ears as closely as possible. It’s a pretty weird feeling, but when the process is complete after about 60 seconds, they become the best headphones I’ve ever worn. You never feel like you’re going to drop them, and they’re so tight ensure good isolation which improves noise cancellation, which is great if you have a computer that likes to orchestrate a symphony of fans while you are playing. your favorite games.

The Fits are very comfortable and fit very well, but what about the audio quality? Well, in my experience, there’s not much to say. They sound great, but nothing special. Ultimately, these are headphones designed for gaming, which means they deliver clear, interference-free audio that we can game with without issue. Especially if we are playing “shooters”, in which response time is key. On the other hand, if you want to use the Fits to listen to music or watch a movie, they will fall short of other headphones on the market. But, in this aspect, other headphones will be worse in terms of connectivity and response time.

Speaking of connectivity, the Fits can connect to just about anything you want. iPhone, yes. PCs too. Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Mac, Android, of course yes. You can even connect the Fits to your computer and phone at the same time via Bluetooth and the Lightspeed wireless receiver. You can also switch between the two using one of the touch buttons on the device. In addition, with these buttons you can increase and decrease the volume, answer a call, skip songs and all the functions that other headphones can perform.

This is where I wanted to go. The Fits have many similar features to many other headphones on the market. As I mentioned before, this is clearly the best device for gaming, but the improvements and new features are not that innovative or groundbreaking. They are only marginally better than the competition, although the same can be said for their shortcomings.

Logitech G is suitable

Do not mistake yourself. The companion app that lets you play around with sound types and qualities is fantastic. Plus, it’s amazing and super convenient to have seven hours of battery life on the earbuds alone, also using Lightspeed technology (with almost a day’s charge when using standard Bluetooth and the charging case). However, we see coming that a device of these characteristics has such a high price (269 euros).

You can get a high-quality headset that can do pretty much everything the Fits do for a similar price, or you can get a headset that produces elite sound for the same price. So I can’t say that the Logitech G Fits make me want to switch headphones because of what they offer. Yes, the comfort level is a cut above most headphones, to the point that after wearing them for hours, my ears don’t hurt or feel numb from a piece of plastic. But I don’t normally wear earbuds that long anyway, as earbuds are usually more comfortable due to padded ear pads and shells.

If you want to change your headphones for headphones, you’ll love the Fits, but don’t expect a product that beats the rest a thousand times over. Even with the Lightform technology and the fantastic Lightspeed receiver, these are good quality headphones at best.
