Originally, Amnesia: The Bunker was due out in March, but friction games decided to delay it. Now, two months later, the developers have realized that releasing the game on May 16 might not have been the best idea.

Because the Swedes sent out a press release in which they reveal that Amnesia: The Bunker has been delayed again, but this time only by a week. The game will now launch on May 23, and the first reason they give us for the decision is that the team wants a little more time to polish the bangs, a very common excuse. The same cannot be said for the second. Frictional Games is one of the few studios to admit fear of competition is another reason for the delay:

“…planning the launch carefully to avoid a week filled with impressive titles from other talented studios. This thoughtful decision means you can fully immerse yourself in each of the incredible gaming experiences, without feeling overwhelmed.”

It makes sense when in mid-May the world awaits the release of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Lego 2K Drive and a few other interesting games. On the other hand, this new date means that he will have to face The Lord of the Rings: Gollum and, apparently, always Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, in spite of the rumors of delay.
