Side jobs aren’t just handed out as a participation trophy. Instead, you’ll need to search the map and locate guilds to get these roles. Below, we’ve compiled a list of the eight base class secondary job slots for your convenience.
clergy license

Contrary to common sense, the Clerics Guild does not find itself in the welcoming embrace of Flamechurch Cathedral. Instead, you need to walk north over a bridge in Borderfall to find a smaller church and get the Cleric Octopath Traveler 2 side job license.
apothecary license

To acquire the Apothecary work permit, you will put on your hiking boots and embark on a journey. First, go west from where you met Castti in Canalbrine. Once there, head south towards Conning Creek. Once you reach the town, make a sharp turn east and go up the stairs. Continue south until you come across a cozy house adorned with two pretty flower boxes. This is where you will get your license.

Do you know that some areas have secret passages that are easy to miss unless you’re right above them? We discovered one on Western Tropu’hopu Traverse, just north of Beasting Village, where you first encounter Ochette. Keep your eyes peeled for a place to head north until you cross the unnamed southern village, but don’t go there. Instead, head south and follow the ruins until you reach the hidden Hunters Guild.
dancer’s license

The dancers’ guild is hidden in a humble dwelling. First, travel to Wellgrove, a quaint town southwest of Cropdale, where you first meet Agnea. Once there, look for a cozy little house adorned with pretty flowers near the entrance. Next, head to the second floor, past the large building, and talk to the Guild Master, who should be accompanied by a nice old man during the day. After a bit of discussion, you will have the Dancer employment license in hand.
scholar license

Scholarly work is child’s play to obtain. Just head west in the Western Winterbloom Snows until you reach the northern end and you’ll find the Guild Hall in all its glory. It’s even a stone’s throw from where you’ll find Osvald before his first chapter.
merchant license

To call it a guild would be an overstatement. It looks more like a merchant’s “pop-up shop”. You can find him in Western Crackridge Wilds, above where you met Partitio in Orerush. At the junction with the signpost and save point, head west and cross the stone bridge. Continue west and you’ll come across a small camp. You must speak to the partner outside the store to obtain the Trader license.
thief license

To earn the coveted side job license, you’ll need to put your surfing skills to the test at the Clockbank, a hidden thieves’ guild accessible only at night. First, you’ll need to head east to New Delsta, then set the time for the night and navigate the northern industrial area. Finally, look for a small house on the left and go up the alley next to it to join the guild.
warrior license

Finding the Warrior license in Sai is very easy. This is probably the most striking and easiest guild to locate. As soon as you get to town, head south and you’ll see him in the back with someone standing guard. It is located south of where you recruited Hikari to Ryu.
