Health potions are your best friend in Tunic. Don’t be fooled by the cheesy look of this game, it can be very difficult at times. When the bosses hit hard, you can’t just fight back anyway. You need to heal. This is where health potions come in. These handy little items will restore your HP, and you can collect several of them during your adventure.
You will find both whole potions and broken potion pieces. Three pieces make a complete potion – think Pieces of Heart in Zelda games. Below is a list of all potion slots, followed by the location of each potion piece. You can have up to nine full potions at the end.

Where to find all Potion Coin locations in Tunic
Potions #1 and #2 – Trader

The trader sells two potions. Buy the first for 300 gems and you’ll restock with a second that costs 1000. Check out our merchant locations guide if you need help locating the vendor. These may only appear at certain points in the game, so consider grabbing a few others first.
Potion #3 – Eastern Forest

Shortly after leaving the east tower basement you will come to the signpost pictured above. Turn left to enter Guardhouse 1. Defeat the enemies inside, climb the ladder and exit on the top ledge to find a chest containing the potion.
Potion #4 – Eastern Forest

This is your reward for defeating the first boss in the game, Captain of the Guard. It can be found in a chest in the room immediately after the battle.
Potion #4 – Inside the Ziggurat

This potion can be found deep underground, in the area Inside the Ziggurat. When you enter the room with light walkways above miasma pools, you’ll see a platform with a chest guarded by two Autobolts. Take them out, then open the chest to claim your potion prize.

Once you have the sword, climb the large stairs you climbed at the start of the game. Cut through the bushes on the left side near the statue to find another chest with a potion inside.
Potion Piece #2: Overworld

Found in a chest near the Sealed Temple. You can use the magic orb to snag part of the way, but you’ll need the laurel wreath to cross the second space.
Potion Piece #3 – Eastern Forest

Once you get your sword, you can enter Guardhouse 2, pictured above. The chest containing the piece of potion is just inside.
Potion Room #4 – Under the Well

This one is cleverly hidden. When you reach the room southwest of the checkpoint room, climb the ladder and interact with the wall to open a hidden passage. Follow it to reach the ledge above the checkpoint. The chest you want is on your right.
Potion Piece #5: Dark Tomb

After descending the ladder from the top floor, you’ll find yourself in a room full of spikes. Look in the upper room for a chest containing the potion coin.
Potion Room #6 – Eastern Vault

You’ll need firecrackers for this one. The easternmost stairway inside the East Vault doesn’t seem like much, but if you throw a firecracker at the wall at the top, you’ll fly into a secret room. Inside is a chest with another piece of potion.
Potion Fragment #7 – Ruined Atoll

It takes two steps. First, you need to head to the mountain in the northeast corner of the area, shown in the screenshot above. Head to the ledge to find a mysterious key.

This key opens the door to the dilapidated brick house to the south. Go inside and climb the ladder. The chest you want is on the broken ceiling.

You can get it once you get the magic orb in this area. From the checkpoint, go through the door with the green overhang. Take a right down the hallway, take out the enemies in the next room, and look for the lone hook in the corner. Hang on and move forward to find a small hidden room containing a chest.
Potion Piece #9: The Quarry

This is found in the firing range as you drop down to the Lower Miasma in this area. Watch out for any scavengers practicing shooting – use the fire orb to take them out if necessary. Then you can smash the boxes next to the objectives and follow the path around the cliff. It will spread to misty miasma. You won’t be able to see the chest when prompted to open it, but you can claim the potion inside.
Potion Fragment #10 – The Quarry

It’s almost directly above the previous one. Follow the edge of the cliff near the waterfall to reach another hidden chest.
Potion Piece #11 – Old Graveyard

There is a chest on a cliff near the bridge and columns on the eastern side of the area. To reach it, go around the column to find a hidden slope that will take you up the hill.
Potion Fragment #12 – The Cathedral

This one is hard to see. Proceed through the cathedral until you reach the upper hallway filled with cages and glowing crows. Check the east corner to find a well-hidden chest among the cages. Inside is the 12th piece of potion.
