A rare collaboration between Toyota and Nintendo will offer 500 Switch and Mario Kart consoles

Toyota there nintendo announced a rare crossover in which buyers of a new SUV will receive a free Switch console, as well as a copy of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

The unusual partnership marks Nintendo’s second collaboration with an automaker as part of Mario Kart 8, which has already introduced three Mercedes-Benz vehicles including the GLA, W 25 Silver Arrow and 300 SL Roadster in 2014.

Mario Kart’s latest mainline game will be ten years old in a few months, but its Deluxe 2017 re-release for Switch continues to have support from Nintendo, as the Japanese company is currently in the process of releasing a massive 48-track expansion.

According to the latest information available, the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pack Wave 4 DLC will be released in the spring.

Meanwhile, Toyota attended the latest edition of the Chicago Auto Show to announce a curious collaboration with Nintendo to promote the upcoming arrival of its 2024 Grand Highlander, which will go on sale in the summer of 2023.

To celebrate, 500 future owners of this luxury SUV will receive an OLED Switch and a physical version of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for free. Toyota even brought a custom Grand Highlander with Switch-themed vinyl to the 2023 Chicago Auto Show to commemorate its second collaboration with Nintendo. It should be noted that this collaboration is exclusive to North America.
