Vampire Survivors was officially released last year and was very well received by fans. The game was successful way above expectations, and many wondered if this achievement would make it work on a sequel.

Speaking to GameSpot, studio head Poncle, Luca Galantedashed those hopes by stating that the team’s current focus is to continue producing content for the original game and still “young” in its lifecycle, but said any sequel would be “radically new”.

“The way Vampire Survivors is designed, we can offer both new content and new gameplay mechanics on top of the existing game, so why make a sequel?” Galante said. “I think if we’re doing a spiritual sequel or a successor, then we should be offering something radically new.”

Vampire Survivors received their last update on February 9, when a ton of new content was added, along with new achievements and challenges to complete.

What do you think? Would you like a sequel to Vampire Survivors or are you happy with more content for the current game?
