Capcom discovered one Resident Evil 4 Remake Breakthrough bug that can prevent players from progressing through the game. This error appears during Chapter 12 and can affect users on all platforms, including PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
Game-breaking bug found in Resident Evil 4 remake in Chapter 12
The Resident Evil 4 Remake Chapter 12 bug is triggered when players attack with the knife while getting a new key item. If players trigger this bug, they will not be able to progress through the game.
An official warning has been issued via the @RE_Games Twitter account:
As of this writing, Capcom is working on a fix that should prevent the issue from occurring in the first place and also fix progress locking for those already affected.
In the meantime, those playing the latest Resident Evil remake will want to be extra vigilant during Chapter 12 and avoid using the knife attack when receiving new items. Maybe just lower the controller during these sequences, just in case!
Hopefully this bug will also be fixed in time for the PSVR mode of the Resident Evil 4 remake. Failing that, there’s always The Mercenaries, whose characters and costumes were recently leaked.
