$750 Monthly Stimulus Check: What You Need to Know and Where to Apply

The Pilot Economic Mobility Program (FCEMP) is a benefit supported by more than $2 million to provide a monthly payment of $750 for 15 months to some families in Fairfax, Virginia.

Even though the coronavirus is far from being a pandemic again and inflation, while stubborn, is considerably lower than it was a year ago, there are states that continue to send money to help their residents. This time, a local program will give monthly payments of $750 to some eligible individuals.

Virginia’s Fairfax County Economic Mobility Pilot Program (FCEMP) will provide monthly cash payments to randomly selected eligible households, along with optional financial training and support resources, to promote economic stability and social capital.

This guaranteed income program for low-income residents includes three elements:

  • A monthly payment of $750 to 180 eligible families for 15 months.
  • Freedom of choice for families to use the cash as they see fit; and
  • Optional financial coaching and the opportunity to increase their social networks through virtual or in-person events.

Applications can be made through its online portal which will open on September 23 and close on October 3. Interested parties should keep an eye on the website to fill out their application form.

Interested parties must meet certain requirements such as:

  • Participants must be employed.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have at least one child under the age of 16 living in the household.
  • Must have an income that is between 150% and 250% of the 2023 Federal Poverty Level.
  • Reside in neighborhoods identified in one of the following zip codes:
  • 22306, 22309, 20190, 20191, 22041, 20170, 22003, 22150, 20120 o 20151

To account for the income range between 150% and 250% of the 2023 Federal Poverty Level, you must consider household size. Here are the amounts you should consider:

  • For a family of 2, a range between $29,580 (150%) and $49,300 (250%).
  • For a family of 3, a range between $37,290 and $62,150.
  • For a family of 4, a range of between $45,000 and $75,000 dollars
  • For a family of 5, a range of $52,710 to $87,850.

The financial assistance payments from this pilot program are not included in gross income and are not taxable because it is COVID-19 disaster relief. Why is it called pandemic relief? The pilot program is supported by more than $2 million in total dollars, made possible with local funds and money from the American Recovery Plan Act.
