How chaotic can a simple vacation be? One of the year’s best comedies answers the question in this hilarious film
One of August’s best comedies is now available on streaming. Vacation Friends 2 (Vacation Friends 2), the sequel to the 2021 hit comedy that wowed audiences with its cute story full of jokes and humorous sequences, ups the ante in its sequel and returns with more adventures that are as unexpected as they are hilarious. The catch? Marcus secretly plans to meet with the owners of the place to discuss a construction contract in Chicago. However, the unexpected arrival of Reese, Kyla’s father just released from San Quentin prison, throws Marcus’ plans into disarray, leading to a chaotic vacation.
The cast includes not only the protagonists of the first part, but also new faces such as Carlos Santos, Ronny Chieng and Jamie Hector. Also, the remembered Steve Buscemi (Street Dogs and Fargo) makes a special appearance as Reese, Kyla’s father. The standout in this film is definitely John Cena, the most famous star of the cast. He had already starred in some dramatic and action movies in the past, but his Hollywood career changed completely when James Gunn cast him as Peacemaker. The DC Comics anti-hero got his own spin-off series after the success of Suicide Squad and it seems that as far as comedy and explosions go, the former WWE champion does quite well.
The first Vacation Friends is a buddy comedy in which Marcus and Emily befriend the unruly couple Ron and Kyla during a vacation in Mexico. The friendship takes an awkward turn when they return home, setting the stage for the sequel.
