Have you ever gone through your list of recommended shows and movies on Netflix and thought you didn’t quite get it?

The streaming service promises to give you exactly what you want to watch, whether you’re a crime junkie, a hopeless romantic, or just want to watch your favorite show over and over again.

Now Netflix promises to be even more specific with its recommendations by installing a new feature in its app.

Starting today, Netflix introduced Double Thumbs Up. Think Tinder Super Like, but for a streaming service.

The current “Like” and “Like” buttons let the streamer know what you think you’ve been watching and help refine your profile to better reflect your tastes.

Now, if you’ve bitten through all of Bridgerton season 2 in one day, you can add a double thumbs up to let them know you’d like to watch similar shows on the app.

Christine Doig-Cardet, director of product innovation at Netflix, says: “We have learned over time that these feelings can go beyond simple likes and dislikes. An additional way to let us know when you really like something is to have a profile with recommendations that better reflect what you enjoy.

“Consider the Double Thumbs Up option as a way to refine your recommendations to watch even more shows or movies influenced by what you love.”

It comes on the heels of news that Netflix has cracked down on out-of-home account sharing.

The streaming giant previously announced it was testing a new feature that would charge users for adding multiple profiles to an account, in a bid to crack down on unauthorized password sharing that affects Netflix’s ability to spend money on great shows. to deliver programs.

In a blog post on Thursday, Chengyi Long, Netflix’s director of product innovation, said the show is being tested in three markets: Peru, Costa Rica and Chile.

“We’ve always made it easy for people who live together to share their Netflix account, with features like separate profiles and multiple streams on our Standard and Premium plans,” Long wrote.

“While these have been very popular, they have also created some confusion about when and how Netflix can be shared.

“As a result, accounts are shared across households, which affects our ability to invest in new TV shows and movies for our members.”
