Mariah Carey, got another impressive world record for her Christmas song “All I Want for Christmas Is You”.
According to TMZ, the song set the record this Christmas Eve for the most streams on Spotify in a single day.
Data from the music streaming platform indicate that the song was played 23 million 701 thousand 697 times worldwide during the 24 hours of Christmas Eve.
The most curious thing is that the artist who held this same record previously was Mariah Carey, for the same song. Her previous record was 21 million 273 thousand 357 transmissions in the same day.
Since 2020, “All I Want for Christmas Is You” has generated the singer around $17.2 million in earnings.
“It’s an amazing thing, that people still like it, and I’m so grateful. I can’t believe the impact of this song that I wrote so long ago when I started,” Carey told REVOLT magazine in 2021, talking about her Christmas hit.
“Christmas songs take a little while to permeate the culture, you know what I mean? It’s an honor and honestly, it’s all because of my fans. It’s a great honor and I’m grateful for all of it,” she assured.
