‘The Book of Elsewhere’ is inspired by a comic book series published by the actor in 2021

In July, Canadian actor Keanu Reeves, famous for the films in the “Matrix” franchise, will publish his first novel: “The Book of Elsewhere”, in partnership with British writer China Miéville. The book will be an adaptation of the comic book series “BRZRKR”, created by Reeves, which tells the story of an ancient warrior struggling with his immortality.

According to the British newspaper The Guardian, Reeves described the partnership with Miéville, author of science fiction titles such as “Lost Station” (Boitempo) and known for his militancy on the radical left, as “extraordinary”. “China did exactly what I expected. He came with a clear architecture for the story and knew how to play with the BRZRKR world, which I love so much. I was thrilled with his vision and honored to be part of this collaborative process,” said the “John Wick” actor.

Miéville also enjoyed working with the actor. “Sometimes the best games are the ones where you play other people’s toys,” he said. “It was an honor, a shock and a joy when Keanu invited me to play. I could never have anticipated how generous he would be with toys he had spent so much time creating.”

Released in 2021 and the fruit of Reeves’ partnership with writer Matt Kindt and artist Ron Garney, “BRZRKR” has become a bestseller and an animated feature on Netflix – starring Reeves himself, of course.
