“Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure” is something you’ve heard of at some point if you’re the least bit interested in manga and anime culture. Sometimes people come hallucinating to see one of these references. If you don’t know what ‘Los Jojos’ are, or ‘Los Juanjos’ as I personally like to call them, today I will clear your doubts.

What is the story of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure? (SPOILERS)

  • The story of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure mainly begins with two characters: Jonathan Joestar and Dio Brando.
  • The latter finds himself accepted as a ‘guest’ of the Joestar family. after the death of his father in strange circumstances, he is therefore raised as a member of the family and, therefore, as Jonathan’s brother.
  • HoweverDio Brando is rotten insideto the point that he will do everything to get ahead in the succession of the Joestar line.
  • Dio and Jonathan started all this craziness that is JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure
  • However, Jonathan discovers his diabolical plans and Dio opts for a drastic alternative to carry them out: use an ancient mask that turns him into a vampire.
  • Despite this, Jonathan eventually stops his attempts in what, apparently, ends in a double death with himself. Jonathan and Dio disappear at the bottom of an ocean.
  • The reality is that Dio, thanks to his vampire essence, manages to survive as the leader who takes control of Jonathan’s body and that from then on, he acquires a goal he will never stop at: ending the Joestar line at all costs.

How many parts of the story of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure has there been so far?

  • To understand what Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure is about, we must also take into account that the manga as such has 9 different parts, having already adapted 6 of them in full in anime.
  • Dio remains the main villain in most games of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, although in some the role of antagonist falls to other characters and even a ‘reset’ of the universe is happening it greatly changes the roles and facets of all that is known.
  • Although there are multiple villains, Dio is the main and most iconic of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure.
  • In each of the parts, in addition, we find that a new Joestar is introduced who takes the lead in the part in question. It’s also true that some Joestars may reappear in later parts of the story, conveying the distinct sense that the battle of the Joestars and Dio Brando is one that spans generations.

What are the stands in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure?

  • If you’ve heard of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, you may have also heard of the ‘Stands’ of the franchiseand it is that these are as essential for him as knowing what the story is about.
  • Essentially, the Stand are the later phase of the Hamon, the initial vital energy with which the battles of the first parts of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure.
  • The Stands, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure’s most iconic form of power
  • A stand is therefore the personification of the vital energy of a being that eventually takes on its own form and abilities. The Stand usually appears next to its user, although distant Stands also exist and, in general, there is an immense variety of powers that range from controlling the flow of time to altering the very fabric of reality.
  • Initially, Stands started appearing after Dio himself was shot with an arrow from a legendary bow which awakened and took his powers to a new level. This “explosion” caused a general awakening from which more and more Stands subsequently began to emerge among certain chosen ones.

And basically that’s all you need to know about what “Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure” is. As you will see, I have described both the premise of the story and the fact that it is marked by Dio and the different generations of Joestar, in addition to the fact that the battles between one side and the other are fought first through the use of the Hamon and, later, with the very popular Stands. I really mean it: don’t be put off by the eccentricity of this franchise, because in reality, it’s a gem of the manga and anime industry like few you’ll find.
