Harrison Ford will join the lucrative Marvel franchise to be part of the cast of the fourth “Captain America” film, which will be titled “New World Order.”

The actor will assume the role of General Ross, who previously played the late William Hurt, in a signing conceived in absolute secrecy and confirmed this Monday by The Hollywood Reporter following a leak on the podcast “The Hot Mic With Jeff Sneider and John Roche”.

Joining Ford, one of Hollywood’s biggest stars, will be Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson.

The film, which will be directed by Julius Onah, will continue the plot of the series “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier”, in which Sam Wilson finally agreed to take Captain America’s shield and cape.

But this will not be Ford’s only appearance in the Marvel universe, as the protagonist of “The Fugitive” (1993) will also play General Ross in “Thunderbolts”, whose premiere is scheduled for 2024.

Although the project will mark his superhero film debut, it will not be the first time that Ford has worked on film franchises, as the actor was the fundamental face of two of the biggest blockbuster brands in Hollywood, “Star Wars” and “Indiana Jones”.

In fact, Ford will say goodbye to “Indiana Jones” with the fifth film in the saga, whose premiere will be on June 30, 2023.
