The sequel to Dragon Ball Super: Broly features new footage for Jump Festa, an event taking place in Japan, to be followed only online again this year.
The next animated film from Akira Toriyama’s cult series, Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, has just taken us on a 48-second trailer, carried by epic music.
What we know about the film
An initial announcement for the film from last summer, and a first trailer that aired in October at New York Comic-Con, provided little in the way of what storyline to expect.
We do know, however, that characters such as Goku and Piccolo are part of the cast and that the latter should be at the heart of the plot, especially alongside Krillin, Vegeta, Bulma, or Son Gohan as well as a new character created by none other than Akira Toriyama, as the action takes place 10 after Buu’s defeat by Goku.
It’s going to heat up with Son Gohan
The trailer that interests us today is just as short as the first, but we can see Gamma 1 and Gamma 2, androids created by Dr. Hedo, who are part of the Red Ribbon Army, a new threat that targets our heroes. Footage also shows a Piccolo ready to do battle, as well as Son Gohan taking out heavy artillery with his Super Saiyajin mode.
The team at the helm of the film
This sequel is produced by Tetsurô Kodama, while the animation is performed by Chikashi Kubota’s team and the music is composed by Naoki Sato. Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is expected to hit Japanese theaters on April 22, 2022, while the rest of the world still has to wait for specific dates.
While waiting for the film to be released in France, it is still possible to see (or re-watch) Dragon Ball Super: Broly, still available on Blu-Ray and DVD.
