Sci-fi and a bit of horror, the West is in the spotlight in February on Amazon Prime Video.
American Gods
American Gods was a literary phenomenon long before the series was released. But we must still recognize the impact of the production of Amazon which made the paper work, published in 2001 and written by the British author Neil Gaiman, a staple of popular culture in just two seasons, between 2017 and 2019.
The gods are not done with us and return for a third round in 2021. Shadow, who is fleeing his old life and trying to s’ assert as a free man, settled in the remote town of Lakeside in the state of Wisconsin.
As so often in American Gods, a dark secret is biding its time to once again change the life of Shadow and those around him while the latter questions his divine nature. One episode of American Gods releases per week on Amazon Prime Video throughout February.
Bliss
We leave the fantastic destination of science fiction and more precisely the anticipation with Bliss, a feature film written and directed by Mike Cahill (director known for I Origins and Another Earth) and produced by Amazon Studios.
In this sci-fi drama, Owen Wilson and Salma Hayek respond to each other against a background of computer simulation. Greg, a man just divorced and dismissed, meets a vagabond, Isabel, convinced that the world today is not real. Suspicious of such a far-fetched theory, Greg ends up getting carried away on a journey where the real and the virtual merge.
Bliss takes the plunge to Amazon Prime Video on February 5.
Soulmates
We continue in the works of anticipation with Soulmates, the new fiction directed by Brett Goldstein and William Bridges. If this name means something to you, it’s normal. William Bridges is one of the architects behind the resounding successes that are Stranger Things and Black Mirror.
Soulmates is a series that originally appeared on AMC in 2020. In the next fifteen years, our world will experience an unprecedented technological upheaval. Science is discovering a way to reveal their soul mate to interested parties through a simple test.

L’Internat: The Summits
Detour by the horrific thriller “made in” Spain to end this journey on the lands of Amazon. L’internat: The Summits (or Les Sommets in French) is a horror series of Laura Belloso and Asier Andueza with Mina El Hammani (actress already seen in the series Elite on Netflix).
The Boarding School takes up the concept of El Internado, a Spanish production broadcast between 2007 and 2010.
