Everyone is waiting for the biography of Britney Spears

The time has come next Tuesday: Then the already legendary biography “The Woman In Me” of Britney Spears will be released. Some contents are already known in advance. Nevertheless, the tension is rising: Will the singer possibly reveal more in a big TV interview?

Some people have probably marked October 24 in red on their calendars: Fans of Britney Spears, for example. Or people who have jitters about the singer’s revelations in her autobiography “The Woman In Me,” which will be published on Tuesday. After all, some intimate details about the former relationship with her ex-colleague Justin Timberlake have already become known in advance, for example, which will be spread out in the book.

But that might not be enough. When celebrities publish their autobiographies or new projects, they often go on a promotional tour at the same time. And it’s not unusual for them to give TV interviews while they’re at it. Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan, for example, caused quite a stir in 2021 with a long conversation with talk show legend Oprah Winfrey, in which they made serious accusations against the British royal family.

In the case of Spears, too, there is speculation that she might now also face Winfrey’s questions or appear on the well-known “60 Minutes” format and make an even bigger all-round attack. In this case, high ratings are guaranteed. If one believes “TMZ”, however, nobody has to tremble before it for the time being. As the U.S. portal has learned from the 41-year-old’s entourage, Spears is not currently planning any TV interviews to promote her book.

“No more lies”

That the singer still changes her mind, however, can certainly not be ruled out. For example, she recently stated in an interview with People magazine, “It’s finally time for me to speak up and speak out – my fans deserve to hear it directly from me.” No more conspiracies, no more lies – just me owning my past, present and future.”

In “The Woman In Me,” Spears writes, among other things, about the guardianship she had been under for 13 years. In 2008, she had been incapacitated, and her father, Jamie Spears, was appointed guardian. “Thirteen years have passed in which I felt like a shadow of myself,” the singer writes in an advance excerpt obtained by “People.” When she now thinks back “that my father and his partners had control over my body and my money for so long, it makes me sick.”

Just think about how many of her male counterparts gambled away their money, struggled with substance abuse or mental health issues, Spears explains. “No one has tried to take away their control of their bodies and their money. I didn’t deserve what my family did to me,” she charges.

“Everyone was afraid of me”

The “New York Times” also already reports on the first excerpts from the book. According to this, Spears also describes in it how it came to her public breakdowns in 2007 and 2008. When she shaved her head or attacked a photographer’s car with an umbrella, for example, she suffered from grief and the custody battle with her ex-husband Kevin Federline, the singer is said to explain.

“When my head was shaved, everyone was afraid of me, even my mother,” Spears is quoted as saying. “During those weeks without my kids, I kept losing my cool.” She had been “crazy with grief.” Spears admits, according to the NYT, that “in the midst of severe postpartum depression, being abandoned by my husband, the agony of being separated from my two babies, the death of my beloved Aunt Sandra and the constant pressure of the paparazzi,” she began to “think like a child in some ways.”

With Federline, Spears has two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, ages 18 and 17. In November 2006, after two years of marriage, the singer filed for divorce from the dancer, which was finalized in the summer of 2007. Her maternal aunt, Sandra Bridges Covington, to whom Spears had been very close, died of ovarian cancer in January 2007.
