José Álvaro Osorio Balvín, singer and record producer, known as “J Balvin”, was born on May 7, 1985 in Medellín, Colombia.

In 2006 he released his first solo song. Years later, in 2009 he became a revelation artist for several Colombian stations. That same year he signed a music contract with EMI Music.

His first studio album The family was an international success, certifying gold, platinum and multiplatinum records in several countries.

The song “Ay Vamos”, contained in that album, won Balvin’s first Latin Grammy award. In 2015, he released “Ginza”, the first single from his next album. With that theme was positioned at number one in Colombia, United States, as well as in Mexico and Spain.

On the other hand, he sang with Jennifer Lopez at the Super Bowl LIV halftime show, held on February 2, 2020, where he performed “Qué calor” and “Mi gente.” In September 2020, Balvin was included in Time magazine’s list of the 100 most influential people of the year.
