Shakira shares video inviting fans to watch her performance at the MTV VMAs
On her Instagram account Shakira invited her fans to see her at the upcoming MTV VMAs on September 12; she will receive the special “Video Vanguard” award for her entire career.
On September 12, the MTV VMAs will be held, awarding the best videos of the year. But there is a special recognition, the Video Vanguard, which is awarded to an artist for their outstanding career in the world of music clips. It has been received by Rihanna, Britney Spears and U2, among others, and now Shakira will be part of that select group, also presenting a small show in which she will perform fragments of her hits. She took to her Instagram account to show herself in a video, looking happy and inviting her fans to watch the ceremony.
The Colombian singer got more than a million likes on that social network for a series of photos in which she shows her contortionist skills, assuming complicated poses during the rehearsals for her performance. She wrote next to the images the message, “Guess what song this pose is from?”
It’s been more than two months since Shakira released her single “Copa vacía”, a duet with Manuel Turizo, which has been a huge success; she continues to promote it in very original ways, and caused a sensation on social networks by posting a clip in which she appears wearing jeans and an orange top, while moving her hips to the rhythm of the popular song.
