The international actor has decided to turn his life 180 degrees after his many problems with the law

He was for many years the “toughest”, the king of martial arts on the film scene, but at sixty years of age there is little left in Jean-Claude Van Damme of that actor who counted his films as great successes.

The Belgian-born interpreter has overcome his addiction to drugs and maintains a dispute with the US Treasury from which he does not know how to get out.

And it is that years ago that he himself confessed his problems with cocaine, spending almost $10,914 a day: “I did it for lust, for sex, to move on. I stopped training, I lost weight, I lost my muscles. I destroyed the body that I had created”, he pointed out.

Furthermore, he was unable to meet the expenses of the mansion he owned in Monaco due to his great whims and the numerous bills he had to pay.

His wife ended up denouncing him for hitting him on some implants. There began a bitter divorce that made history, since the monthly compensation that the actor had to pay his already ex-wife was $121,200 per month.

For these and many other reasons, and according to what a Spanish friend of Jean reveals to La Razón, “wants to settle permanently in our country. He has a house in the Balearic Islands and his intention is to work in Europe, with the islands as the center of operations. He is in love with Spain and the island of Pitiusa, and he comes every year to enjoy his huge apartment in the company of one of his children. He has three of two different women, Blanca Bree, Nicholas and Kristopher.”

In this 2021 his professional career has taken on a special relevance since he took part in the movie “The last mercenary”.

He has also given voice to one of the characters of the well-known cartoon film, “Minions: the rise of Gru”. Despite his achievements as a performer, he has always ensured that he is known more by name than by his professional career.
