Dwayne Johnson is convinced he can get the role of 007 in the new James Bond.

Comedian Daniel Craig having officially given up the role of James Bond after No Time to Die, many movie stars have set their sights on the flagship role. If names like Idris Elba, James Norton, Tom Hiddleston, Jamie Bell, Damian Lewis, Henry Cavill or even Tom Hardy come up very often in the press, Dwayne Johnson (aka The Rock in WWE) officially applies to become Britain’s new super spy on the big screen: “My grandfather, Peter Maiva, was a James Bond villain in You Only Live Twice with Sean Connery. It was very, very cool. And I would like to follow in his footsteps and be the next James Bond. I don’t want to be a bad guy. I want to be James Bond.”

If the idea is totally far-fetched given that Dwayne Johnson, currently showing in Red Notice on Netflix, is not British and British fans are very protective of the iconic spy created by novelist Ian Fleming, he is convinced he has a chance and does not want to be a villain like his former fellow wrestler David Bautista who played Mr. Hinx, the murderer of the SPECTER criminal organization in the 007 movie Specter.
