Britney Spears announces she will release her memoir in October, called “The Woman in Me.”

The book will be published by Gallery Books, from publishing giant Simon & Schuster

Britney Spears announced Tuesday that she will release a memoir called “The Woman in Me” on October 24, in which she promises: “a brave and incredibly moving story about freedom, fame, motherhood, survival, faith and hope”.

According to People magazine, the book will be published by Gallery Books, from the publishing giant Simon & Schuster, and the cover features a black and white photo of the singer posing in her youth with her torso naked, in profile, and covering herself with a gesture of vulnerability while looking into the lens.

One of the heads of Gallery Books, Jennifer Bergstrom, who is senior vice president and publisher, told People that she expects the memoir to have “a similar impact” to Spears’ courtroom testimony and predicted that it will become “the publishing event of the year.”

What will we find in this book?

The book’s website recalls how in 2021 “the whole world heard Britney Spears speak in court” about her experience of being subjected to the controversial legal conservatorship that controlled her finances and personal life for some 14 years, and from which she was released by court order at the outcry of her fans.

“The impact of sharing her voice – her truth – was undeniable, and it changed the course of her life and the lives of countless others. ‘The Woman in Me’ reveals for the first time her incredible journey, and the strength inside one of the greatest artists in pop music history,” a promotional text advances.

The ageless pop princess, 41, approaches this tale “with outstanding candor and humor” with the goal of “illuminating the enduring power of music and love, and the importance of a woman telling her own story, on her own terms, finally,” the text also states.
