Jamie Spears will remain the guardian of the estate of Britney Spears, whose fortune amounts to 60 million dollars

A Los Angeles Superior Court Judge has denied a petition to remove the father of Britney Spears as guardian of the heritage of the famous American singer Britney Spears, local media reported this Thursday.

The ruling estimates that the pop star’s heritage should continue to be controlled and preserved in part by her father Jamie Spears.

The judicial decision has been known just a week after the hearing of the petition formulated by Spears, whose fortune is calculated in about 60 million dollars, to end the legal guardianship by which her father has controlled her life for 13 years, considering it “abusive” and “absurd”.

“This guardianship is paying the salary of many people. I’m fed up,” said the singer before the Los Angeles court during a telephone interview full of forceful statements such as: “I’m not happy”, “I can’t sleep” and “I felt drugged”.

This is the first time that Spears publicly opposed the control that her father exercises over public and private aspects of her life by a judicial decision that dates back to 2008, after a period of erratic behavior.

For his part, James Spears asked the Los Angeles court in the last hours to investigate the complaints made by the artist in her statement last week.

The pop star’s father delivered documents Tuesday night stating he has had no power over Britney in recent years and he requested that her “serious allegations about forced labor, forced medical therapy, inadequate medical care and deprivation of personal rights” be investigated, many of them leveled against herself.

The open conflict between the singer and her father has generated a movement in social networks in support of what was one of the most popular American artists of the late last century.

Yes, the motto “Free Britney” has gained momentum this year after the premiere of the documentary “Framing Britney”, a film produced by The New York Times that reviews the most controversial harsh aspects of the artist’s career.
