Bela and Gigi Hadid’s family receives death threats for supporting Palestine, says website

The father of the models of Palestinian descent, who have been receiving threatening messages amid the war, is considering going to the FBI

The Hadid family, which includes supermodels Bela and Gigi, is receiving death threats because of its support for Palestine amid the conflicts of the Israel-Hamas war. The information was published by the American website TMZ.

According to the website, all members of the family – including Bela and Gigi’s brother, Anwar Hadid, and their parents, Mohamed and Yolanda – have received messages that have left them fearing for their lives. They have received threats via email, social media and cell phones.

As well as being of Palestinian descent, Bela and Gigi have a history of taking a pro-Palestinian stance. Recently, Gigi published a message in which she said she had “deep empathy” for the “Palestinians fighting for their lives under occupation”.

In her Instagram post, the model lamented the Israeli attacks on Palestine, and also condemned Hamas’ attacks on Israel. “While I have dreams and hopes for the Palestinians, none of them include harming a Jew,” she wrote.

After the post, says TMZ, threats to the family increased. The patriarch, Mohamed, is considering going to the FBI, and they have all been told to change their phone numbers after they were leaked on the internet.
