The renowned Puerto Rican artist Anuel AA released this Friday his new single and music video, “Leyenda”, inspired by some legendary sports figures such as Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant.
“Our global legends have influenced me, especially those like Michael Jordan, Mike Tyson, Kobe Bryant and many more, because like me, they have pushed themselves to higher limits,” Anuel AA states in a press release.
The music video for “Leyenda”, which comes after the release of “Dictatorship”, recreates the story of a basketball player from the University of North Carolina who, like Jordan, is selected in the NBA Rookies Draw for the Chicago Bulls.
Then, in “Dictatorship”, Anuel AA recreates Jordan hitting the last basket he made with the Bulls in the championship series against the Utah Jazz in 1998 and later plays Bryant after winning one of his titles with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Anuel AA directed both videos, in line with the concept of the narratives inspired by some of the most recognized basketball players in the world and who had to overcome obstacles to become legends.
“With the series of storytelling videos I want to inspire my fans to move on as I have and many of the legends who have continued to make us fans of who they are,” highlights Anuel AA.
“Leyenda” and “Dictadura” are expected to be part of Anuel’s third and next album, “Las Leyendas Never Die”.
“Dictatorship”, meanwhile, has been a trend in countries such as the United States, Colombia, Spain, Argentina and Mexico.
